Winter crafts, wood carving and toasted marshmallows will be among the attractions when a County Durham museum opens for the February half term holidays.
Killhope: the North of England Lead Mining Museum will be open from Saturday, 16 February to Sunday, 24 February.
Special activities during the week will include a Fun in the Forest Day on Tuesday, 19 February, with wild wood crafts followed by tatties and marshmallows around the campfire. There is a £5 charge per person and booking is essential.
On Wednesday, 20 February, youngsters can find out about the museum’s unique collection of spar boxes before getting creative and making their own. The session runs from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and costs £7.50, including materials.
There will also be winter and spring crafts on Thursday, 21 February for a £2 charge. The museum will be open from 10.30am to 5pm each day.
