The Newton News new website is still proving to be a winner with over half a million hits recorded in the last three months (this statistic is on the home page for all to see, bottom right hand corner).
We are delighted our newspaper increases in popularity and it is down to the superb support we receive from the community we serve.
Readers will know we have no reporting staff and rely on news being sent in from all sections of the community. Our influence is undeniable and as a purveyor of local news unsurpassed, thanks to this valuable support from readers.
Others have tried to emulate our style with little success and been forced out of business. Our advertisers are very happy with the results they receive and their continued support is testament to our success and their own.
One of the reasons is the ratio of news to advertising found in Newton News. Businesses using our columns recognise their notices are not lost in multiple pages of solid advertisements and have a fair chance of being read, mixed with good news content.
We are constantly trying to improve and would welcome any suggestions from our readers. One reader asked if we could insert a crossword and this is something we used to offer 20 years ago, but we lost our compiler. If there is anyone willing to volunteer this service we would like to hear from you.
