Students at Greenfield have been busy compiling a collection of items to bury in the time capsule funded by GAMP. The capsule will be buried at the front of the school over half term and when it’s dug up in 50 years’ time will contain a clue to the strengths of Greenfield in 2012/13.
Contained in the capsule are messages for a future generation from our current students as well as copies of students’ work and background to their lives, backed up by newsletters and items of uniform.
Some of the students favourite books feature in the collection; as do a collection of recently published books that include Greenfield’s successful teaching methods as a national school of creativity. The capsule also contains a selection of gifts to illustrate the strong international links as well as items to celebrate the Jubilee and Olympics.
Headteacher, David Priestley said “deciding what to include has helped us all reflect on what makes Greenfield such a successful and special place to be. We hope that a future generation will be inspired when they open it”.
The capsule will be buried as part of a new outdoor art installation at the school.
