Greenfield Arts are once again delighted to be part of the world’s largest drawing festival – The Big Draw. This year artist Jilly Johnston will be inspiring students at Greenfield Community College to draw upon their imagination and create a collaborative installation to remember.
Every student at Greenfield will have the opportunity to take part in the event and are being given the chance to be ‘playful’ to spark originality and creativity. Throughout the week students will work in pairs to create their own colourful ‘instructable’, taking turns to complete a drawing that is unique but will form part of an immense piece of artwork to be proud of.
Katy Milne, Director of Arts and Creativity at Greenfield Arts has been responsible for the activity, alongside artist Jilly Johnston. “We are delighted to be part of this campaign for drawing and play has always been an important part of art” said Katy “it will be powerful to see the whole school come together with thousands of ideas and over five hundred drawings that will culminate in a vibrant, collective piece of art”.
The artwork will be installed at Greenfield Arts ready for the New Year to form a colourful welcome in the foyer area for students, staff and the wider community.
