Sports at Greenfield Community College continued its success over the last term, with its Sports Leaders out to set an example to younger sports enthusiasts from across the County.
The Greenfield leaders are part of the Olympic legacy, leading and supporting a range of sporting events for primary school pupils at different events. Notable from the last half term was their time at Maiden Castle as part of the Durham County Finals, where Greenfield’s sports teams had success at Netball and Table Tennis in particular.
Some of the events supported by Greenfield’s leaders included: Primary Cross Country held at Shildon, INIOS Go Run for Fun event at the Oakleaf Sports Centre, interschool Year 5/6 netball, and football and a number Year 3 Tennis open days held at Greenfield. They have done a very professional job, with a number of visiting staff commenting on high standards, excellent organisation, good behaviour and how the leaders catered for the needs of all abilities and disabilities.
The leaders are a credit to the fantastic sports department, who offer a number of after school activities for all young people in the area as well as Greenfield students. To find out more about our sports and PE department, follow them on twitter @GreenfieldPE
