The Cree men at Greenfield Arts are once again working their magic to bring new life to spaces that can be enjoyed by students and the wider community.
The group attended a free workshop offered by Durham County Council Arts Team at Gala Theatre to see Matisse cut outs from Heywood Gallery London and take part in a creative arts workshop with local professional artist Paul Merrick.
The men used the stimulus of the Matisse Exhibition to create their own works. Experimenting with shape and colour, the men came back to Greenfield Arts inspired and are busy creating a new mobile for the Arts Centre.
Katy Milne, Director of Greenfield Arts said, “The Cree men are such a fantastic group of people who are open to exploring ideas, trying new things and creating things which others can also benefit from. I know those who come to the visit the Arts Centre will be wowed”
Our next project is a ‘changing rooms’ project to make a space at Greenfield Community College a more comfortable, inspiring space for the students to be able to develop their skills and feel more confident about sharing their ideas.
