Sharon Franklin is a member of the committee at the Big Club, and also runs, with her husband James, a Fundraising Group called ‘Clear and Care for the Community’.

On Friday 1st June 2018 they are staging an 80’s Concert Band called Zen. All profits from this night will go to The MRI Scanner Appeal. Tickets are £5 and available on Facebook or contact number is 07896 511171, or from the Big Club. We will be holding a raffle and are currently looking for prizes, if anyone could help out.

The Franklin’s community group has been around for 3 years and have a great number of supporters. They collect donated items and sell them at a small charge, this also helps a lot of people who are struggling. James delivers them on an evening in his free time.

Over the time they have donated money to a few organisations on the town and organised events and trips to South Shields, a pantomime, and currently organising a trip to South Lakes Safari Zoo in April.

They have held Summer & Christmas Disco Parties and have an Easter one coming up. Halloween and Christmas disco’s are also being planned.

They run the fortnightly Kid’s Disco at the Big Club on a Tuesday night from 5pm-8pm which is a great success.

In the past they had events for Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group, as well as Kieran Maxwell Legacy and others.

They have a Little Mix Tribute act on at the club called Little Fix, this is aimed at families and 600 tickets over 2 shows have sold out on Saturday 31st March. More family orientated events coming up include an Ariana Grande Tribute Act in September.

“It is our pleasure to be holding the Zen Night and raising funds for the MRI Scanner Appeal.” said Sharon.
