The Greenfield Community College ‘Class of 2019’ have so much to celebrate. This year group have demonstrated huge maturity, creativity and collaboration in their work together.

Their ‘success’ story continues with well-deserved examination results this summer, sustaining the school’s reputation for high academic achievement alongside strong commitment to personal development. Executive Headteacher David Priestley acknowledged the hard work of both students and our staff. “We are proud of each and every one of our students who have benefitted from the quality teaching and support of our expert staff team as well as support from our wider school community including parents/carers. We wish all our students huge success in their next steps as they continue their learning and development beyond Greenfield.”

Greenfield are celebrating more than 60% of students who achieved grades that were at least one grade above their target. Subject Leader for English, Mr Smith, was delighted as a large proportion of his students achieved grades 8 and 9. Mrs Middleton, Subject Leader for Maths, was thrilled to celebrate the success of her students. PE specialist Mr Allison said, “what fabulous results with 80% of my students achieving at least a Level 2 Merit (Grade 6) or better!”

Greenfield Community College Chair of Governors, Ian Dennis, added “I am delighted to acknowledge the huge team effort from everyone involved with the school. The governing body appreciates all the hard work of staff and students as well as the support of our families and community across Newton Aycliffe and Shildon in our continuous journey of improving results. We wish them all every success in the future.”
