Students from Greenfield Community College had a great experience recently when they had the opportunity to be involved in a project with Bishop Auckland College, Auckland Castle, and Sainsburys. As part of Rights Respecting Day the students were given the chance to learn new skills and get a flavour of college life giving them inspiration and advice for the future. Bishop Auckland College provided the venue and their staff delivered an excellent hands-on experience.
The students were set the task of making and promoting a tapas menu for a Spanish Restaurant. The students in their houses were split into groups and given a set of tasks to do. Some were charged with making a tapas dish, other students were asked to promote and market their products. At the end of the morning each house team had the opportunity to prepare a presentation to be delivered to a panel of judges. It was a tough decision as all the presentations were excellent but in the end Yellow house won.
Well done! Greenfield Community College would like to thank: Bishop Auckland College for the venue and delivering the sessions, Sainburys for their support and the ingredients, and Auckland Castle who provided the focus, support and generous pages for our students. The day was a huge success and all the partners are here to develop our partnership next year.
