After almost 12 months of hard work Gestamp Aycliffe have been awarded the ‘Better Health at Work Bronze Award’. Led by the Wellbeing Matters team, the award looks at initiatives and activities which ultimately have a positive impact on our Employees Wellbeing over a yearly period.
Throughout 2022 Gestamp have introduced a range of high-quality initiatives & activities into their delivery which was identified throughout the assessment criteria. The Better Health Award Assessor, Becky Gustard, said “It is clear the organisation is prioritising the Health & Wellbeing of their employees.” One highlight was in September 2022, a ‘Wellbeing Roadshow’, where employees had access to providers such as ManHealth (mental health support for men living within the North East), smoking cessation, Lifestyle fitness and Darlington Credit Union and Northumbrian Water.
Wellbeing Lead, Alastair Waugh, said, “we wanted a one-stop-shop for all mental wellbeing issues, during the afternoon employees were also able to undertake a 20 minute health check that included BMI, weight and blood pressure.”
Employee Wellbeing is one of our biggest core values at Gestamp and we have started our journey in striving to make real improvements to better look after our most important asset – our people.
So much so, we have recently invested heavily in a dedicated Wellbeing Leader. We have an passionate, enthusiastic Wellbeing team and are committed to offer a range of events, support and awareness campaigns that most suit our people.
With our aim to grow and build on this offering year on year, tailoring activities as we learn more about their desires and needs and aim to achieve the Silver & Gold Awards.
