My Dad has lived in Newton Aycliffe since the early 1950’s (I was born in Lightfoot Road in 1956!) – and he was part of the Great Aycliffe Town Council Building Works Team that built most of the Town Centre (as was!) and many of the houses around the Simpasture Gate area and beyond.
He loves living in Newton Aycliffe – and despite now being 90 years old is an active member of Neville Parade Methodist Church and Art Group, as well as a regular attender at the fabulous Luncheon Club held weekly at the Youth Centre.
He can also been seen most days tearing around Newton Aycliffe on his ‘e-bike’….an electric bike that has transformed his life!
We approached the Pioneering Care Partnership to help us celebrate my Dad’s Birthday. It was a ‘first’ for the PCP to have such an event – but as you can see from the photographs it was a resounding success – due to the incredible help and support the Staff at the PCP gave us.
Once again the Pioneering Care Partnership pulled out the stops to ensure my Dad had a party to remember. The willingness of their Staff to help us in setting the room as well as the fabulous Catering they provided ensured that my Dad, Family and Guests had a wonderful afternoon enjoying and celebrating a Wonderful Man….my Dad.
I would like to thank Vicki, Gail and Carol and all of her Staff for all they did on the day – and for their support in making it happen – and the fabulous Buffet they provided.
It is certainly an ideal venue to hold such an event – and one which I’m sure my Dad will want to return to for every other party he has.
