1407 (Newton Aycliffe) Squadron Air Cadets works with young people from 13 years of age and aims to promote, among young people, a practical interest in aviation. The training that is provided will be useful in civilian life and develop the qualities of citizenship and leadership. First aid training is an essential element of cadet’s training not only for while on squadron activities but in day-to-day life. A generous donation from Eldon Financial Planning has enabled the squadron to purchase an extensive range of first aid equipment. This will ensure that the cadets can be well trained in delivering first aid, should the need ever arise.
John Atkinson, Chair of the Civilian Committee, responsible for fundraising for the squadron, commented “This support from a local business has made a tremendous difference to the quality and scope of the training and activities that the cadets can undertake. I thank Eldon Financial Planning for their support for the work of the squadron.”
Kevin McCarthy, Managing Director at Eldon, said “We are delighted that we have been able to help our local squadron purchase the necessary equipment to assist with their training needs.”
1407 will be holding a recruitment evening in September to enable young people to find out more about the opportunities available by joining the squadron.
