One of the latest businesses to open on Aycliffe Business Park is Ray Gardner a landscape garden designer and supplier of garden products.
Ray spent his childhood living in West Cornforth and attended school in Spennymoor. He began his working life as a greenkeeper at Woodham Golf club in 1987. Whist working there he also attended Durham College of Agriculture and Horticulture.
In 1996 he decided on a change of career and Ray Gardner Landscapes was born. He then began his passion for designing and building domestic gardens both grand and small, which he has been doing ever since.
In 2004 Ray moved into the Woodham area of Newton Aycliffe and continues to live there with his wife and two children. With most of his work being in Newton Aycliffe and the surrounding areas this could not be a more convenient place to live and provide his services to the community.
While operating “Ray Gardner Landscapes Design and Build” Ray found it increasingly hard to source high and consistent quality landscaping and gardening materials locally so he decided to open Gardner’s Yard with the aim of supplying the very best products at affordable prices, enabling the public to create beautiful gardens.
With decorative gravels in various sizes and colours, bark solutions for decoration or safe play areas, post crete, cement, fencing products, sand’s, slates, compost and top soil, all available for quick delivery – just some of the products available from stock.
Ray told Newton News his business is increasing thanks to adverts in Newton News: “We are looking to increase our product range with items such as Logs, Kindling Firelighters, Winter Path Salt and Grit for the Autumn and Winter season. We are also planning to offer Christmas Trees and Holly Wreaths for sale for the festive season”.
