Hannah Featherstone competed in the Commonwealth Trials held in Glasgow 12th to the 16th of April. She was 11th in the 50 Freestyle in a new best time of 27:25. In the 200 freestyle she posted a new best time of 2:04:00 to take the bronze medal. In the 100 Freestyle her time of 57:9 gained her 4th place. There was only :8 of a second between the first four places.
The outcome of these outstanding results is that Hannah has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Junior European Championships to be held in Doorecht, Netherlands during 6th to the 14th July.
Her team mates worked hard alongside her in the preparation for this event and were without doubt major contributors to her success.
As reported some weeks ago in Newton News Hannah had an outstanding result in the British Pentathlon the result of which has gained her selection to represent Great Britain in the European Youth Pentathlon to be held in Barcelona during the 30th July to the 4th August. This is followed by the ASA National Championships held in Sheffield. A busy time to say the least.
Team mate Elisabeth Yaneski travelled to Aberdeen to compete in the Scottish National Masters Swimming Championships. Our stated aim was to set a new Scottish Record in the 800 Freestyle. Although Elisabeth had a great swim in a new best time of 10:18 she had to settle for the silver medal and missed the record by 3 seconds.
