8 year old junior golfer James King, coached by Oak Leaf professional Julie Welch, qualified for the regional round of “Star of the Future” category in the American Golf Junior Championship. He then went on to play in the National Final and came second much to the delight of his parents Matthew and Angela. Watch out for highlights of the championships on Sky T.V. in a few weeks time.
The family live in School Aycliffe and James attends Heighington School. He took up golf two years ago and really enjoys being part of the Junior Section at the Oak Leaf which meets Monday nights from 5.30 – 6.30pm and Saturdays 10 – 11am.
