It’s 50 years since I asked Syd Howarth to publish a small notice in the Newton News offering furniture and household items for families in need.
At the time I had it all stored in my garden shed. Then Aycliffe Development Corporation gave me a rent free garage.
Very quickly we were delivering and collecting all over the North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire, even as far south as Portsmouth!
We now have three large factory units on the Chilton Industrial Estate, Avenue 3, and a very successful employability scheme and Re-paint.
We currently have new beds, mattresses, furniture and electrical appliances with full manufacturers guarantee.
