Last week, Aycliffe Dance Academy held a Family Fun Day to raise funds to buy students new costumes for this year’s show!
Hundreds of people attended the day held at the Academy’s home, The Bethany Centre. Members of the Academy and the public browsed stalls, had their faces and nails painted, played on the bouncy castle and took part in activities such as Hook A Duck, Chase The Ace and The Ultimate Throwing Challenge!
The children (and adults) had a fantastic time; they even got the opportunity to have balloons made by Professor Nincompoop and meet the wonderful Cinderella, Rapunzel and Mickey Mouse characters which were kindly supplied by Meet My Mascot.
The Fun Day was also a massive celebration to mark five years from when the Academy first opened back in 2010. The day turned out to be a HUGE success and raised a whopping £1622.58!
Emma Cox, Dance Principal of Aycliffe Dance Academy said: “It amazes me every single year how everyone rallies around and comes together to make our fun days a great success! Days like these help us to keep the costs right down for all of our students taking part in annual shows. We’ve had so much help and support it really is overwhelming and I’m so very, very grateful.”
Everyone is welcome to come along and support the n Show which is part of this year’s Aycliffe Festival on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July at the Xcel Centre, Aycliffe Business Park.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday 23rd May between 10am and 12pm at The Bethany Centre in Woodham. Any local businesses or individuals interested in supporting the event are asked to call Emma on 07908 162 868.
