During summer the kids have grown tall,
Now back at school as autumn leaves
begin to fall.
Bring on the fun of donning their wellies,
(Better than watching small screens,
or even the telly.)
Scrunching through piles of crisp scrunchy leaves,
But wellies are best, scuffed school shoes would Mum peeve!
Looking forward to the weekends,
Of cosy nights snuggling with family and friends.
Hallowe’en is just round the corner,
Pumpkins and spooks will soon be in order!
Half term is only a few weeks away,
Then in the watery sun some days out to play.
Gathering conkers from the chestnut trees,
Warmly wrapped up against the chilling breeze.
Rosy cheeks, then head home for hot chocs!
