Petting Zoo, 12th August 10-2pm
Local residents group ACORN Community Association will be holding their annual Petting Zoo in Aycliffe town centre on Saturday 12th August from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
Children and adults will be enthralled with all the creatures, great and small. The event features three petting zoos and numerous stalls together with other attractions such as tombola, face-painting, sweet stall and a performance by the Shine Choir at 11am.
Bring the kids, Aunty, Uncle and Grandparents for a great day with animals from Riggmor Mobile Farm, Jurassic Encounters, Animals About Town, KL Pony Therapy and Scranimals.
There will be an array of animals and reptiles, which brings visitors from around the region to meet fluffy, feathered and scaled creatures.
Always a well-attended event from children to pensioners, there is something for everyone. One of the greatest attractions is always the ladies of the WI who will be selling wonderful, tasty, home-made food – a book stall by St Clare’s, Junction 7, Prickly Haven, RSPB and Aycliffe Radio providing music during the event.
Sports Day, 19th August 11-3pm
Now is the time to get active, why not come along and talk to representatives from a wide range of sports organisations including Cricket, Football, Rugby, Archery, Karate, Bowls, Squash, Water Polo and more?
Lively performances from Clubercise, Ballet, Karate and Infinity Dance School.
The day would not be complete without an ice cream or having your face painted. Talk to our local police beat team, NHS well-being staff as well as music from Aycliffe Radio.
