Following their successful Lumiere event in January, the children, staff and the Friends of Vane  Road Primary School were delighted to host a fun packed Summer Fayre on Wednesday July 9th.
Parents and carers were bathed in the hot summer sunshine as they enjoyed the many attractions. Stalls and activities were designed and manned by the eager pupils who were excited at the opportunity to bring the community into their school life.
Variations of old favourites proved popular with people queuing to” Pin the Tail on the Unicorn “and to try their luck at the “Human Fruit Machine”.
Mr Pavey, the Headteacher, proved himself a good sport volunteering to be put in the stocks. Many people happily paid a small fee to pelt him with wet sponges (it was reported that some had more than one go)! The atmosphere was light hearted, lively and good fun.
Visiting fairground attractions included Tea Cup Rides and a thrilling Fun House. Ice creams, cakes and soft drinks were available to buy. The many visitors hailed the event as another resounding success.
