On Thursday 28th July 2016 Aycliffe Town Centre hosted a Celebration of the Local Army Reserves, Police and Fire Services. This was attended by hundreds of people who enjoyed the various attractions we had available, BB gun range, field ambulance, police and fire vehicles and of course from Channel 5 ‘The Police Interceptors’ who proved a very popular draw. The event was supported by a variety of local charity stalls with a wide variety of games and interests for all the family. In addition the kids had great fun on the Jousting inflatable and with Splat the Rat from Veterans at Ease. It is hoped this will be an annual event with support from all the services and Town Centre Manager Bryan Haldane thanks all ‘Newtonians’ who came to enjoy the day. The next major event is a Pet Themed day with lots of surprises to come including a Pet Talent contest on 17th August between 11.00 – 3.00. More details to follow in this paper and on Star Radio.
