Friends of West Park will be holding meetings in the upstairs lounge at the Royal British Legion club on the following dates
Tuesday 13th May 7pm-9pm
Tuesday 10th June 7pm-9pm
Primarily these meetings are opportunities for the committee to get together in formulating an action plan and discussion to drive the project forward. Interested members of the public are invited to attend, make comments and suggestions.
Progress from the previous meeting held on April 15th will be discussed to ensure the group does not become a talking shop and results can be confirmed.
• Behind the scenes work has been carried out on an action plan by Sonia Newhouse of County Durham Community action.
• The Great Aycliffe Youth Council have made a substantial donation which has helped to provide a quantity of bulbs and trees.
• Officers of the Great Aycliffe Town Council and members of the Friends group, Acle Scouts and Cubs and the Youth Council have been planting bulbs in the park.
• Members of the Friends group have been involved in periodic litter picks supplementing work carried out by council staff.
Increasing public support continues to be the driving force behind the West Park project with many new ideas coming forward and excitement growing over what we can achieve.
