Aycliffe Radio are proud to be able to offer all key workers who live or work in Newton Aycliffe a FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL, as a form of a thank you for your efforts during the pandemic.
Aycliffe Radio has been running a series of successful Drive In events at ROF59 Activity Centre (rear field) to help boost the spirits and give residents the opportunity to come out and enjoy themselves with great music, both live and recorded, in a socially distanced environment.
The Drive In events have proved popular and mostly selling out each time. 90s/00s Dance Anthems, a Cheesy Pop Party, Punk Rock Day and Ibiza Tunes were the first; with more to come over the next few weeks including a second 90s/00s Dance Anthems this weekend (Saturday night) from 5-10pm, a Majestic Panto ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and a second Punk Rock Day on 30th August (which is sold out already).
On Saturday 29th August, (Bank Holiday weekend), Aycliffe Radio will be bringing together some of the best local acts to perform at our special ‘HEROFEST’.
The event will take place over two sessions, 12.00 noon to 4.30pm and 5.30pm to 10.00pm and will include children’s balloon modelling and magic from Prof Nincompoop, stilt walker (weather permitting), a fully stocked bar, barbecue and refreshments as well as presenters from Aycliffe Radio filling in between the acts.
Key workers who live or work in Newton Aycliffe must register for this event to reserve their ‘pod’ on this drive in event, bring the family or come with co-workers – book your place at:
