North East residents can improve their IT skills with a range of free courses from New College Durham.
The free digital training is available to anyone who is employed and lives in the North East. This fantastic opportunity is also available to people that are accessing the Government’s furlough scheme.
The courses will be delivered on-line or at home using a workbook, with support from professionally trained tutors. There are a range of short and longer courses on offer including ECDL, Microsoft Office Specialist and Smart Digital.
Peter Morrison, Head of School for Tourism, Digital and Creative Industries, said: “New College Durham is keen to support the North East workforce to develop digital skills. The COVID pandemic has shown how vital digital skills have become, both in the workplace and in everyday life. Our courses offer everyone the chance to improve their skills, whether they are beginners looking for an introduction to IT or a more experienced user seeking a recognised qualification.”
Prospective students can find out more about the courses on offer and enrol at one of the college’s virtual information events. The events take place each week on a Thursday between 4-6pm. To register go to www.newdur.ac.uk. Registration closes at 9am the Tuesday before each event. If you have any issues registering, please contact New College Durham on 0191 375 4000.
