We still have a number of places available at a children’s holiday club that starts next week in Newton Aycliffe. It is free to attend and children will take part in a range of activities as well as being given a nutritious meal and snacks. We’d love it if we could fill up the spaces as the same clubs that are being run elsewhere are oversubscribed. Details below if you could pop something in the paper for Friday. The Big Lottery Fund has awarded Landlords Livin with a £60,000 grant to help tackle hunger and the summer learning lag during school holidays. The ‘Day Out, Not just a Handout’ project will be run by homes and communities business, Livin, in schools across Newton Aycliffe this summer. Providing local children with free activities and nutritious meals is a bid to ensure no child goes hungry. The project will also help maintain educational attainment during the school break. Project starts Monday, 31st July 2017 at Greenfield  with Free Healthy and nutritious meals and snacks each day.
