Saturday 12th December saw Aycliffe MMA star back in action. Dave Cunliffe who is a mixed martial artist is back in action after almost a year out due to injury. He was matched against a fighter from Yorkshire to fight for the Machine MMA title up in Stanley which is ran by famous UFC legend Ian ‘the machine’ freeman. David already holds 3 featherweight titles but was keen to prove he had what it takes to beat this particular opponent. The show, based in Stanley, saw fighters from all over the country battle it out for the win. Dave, who trains at DBMA Darlington and Itaipava bjj Newcastle, took on pav sahota, a fighter based in Huddersfield. The fight was action packed with Dave dominating from the bell landing punches and kicks before submitting his opponent with a flying triangle submission! A huge win for Dave and the gyms he trains at. Dave is now looking to turn professional in the new year and follow his hobby.
