Fancy forging a new hobby? A County Durham museum is offering people the chance to learn the basics of blacksmithing. Killhope: the North of England Lead Mining Museum is running a blacksmith workshop next month.
The session will take place from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday, 25 October and anyone who is interested is advised to book early.
It will be led by the museum’s resident blacksmith, Chris Askew. Students will learn basic skills and make their own poker to take home.
The workshop costs £50 per person and includes all materials, lunch and refreshments. For further details or to book a place call 01388 537 505. More information about Killhope is available at www.killhope.org.uk
