Good afternoon, I am writing to you in confirmation of our conversation that we held late last Friday afternoon. I would appreciate it if you could find the space in the next issue to publish my response to the article on page 11 of Newton News on Friday 2nd July 2021. You will recall that my conversation started with the question as to who had authored the article, as there was no author declared in the piece. You kindly advised me that this piece had been submitted by a representative of Fornax which to me was fairly obvious as around three quarters of the article was selling the facility, raising its praises and was written, in my opinion, that the plant was already built and operational and therefore being extremely biased!
Since our conversation I have seen several instances on a local Facebook site where people are assuming that the article was written in fact by MP Paul Howell, seeing as it was next to his normal weekly ‘Parliament Talk’.
I think at the very least Newton News should make it clear as to who wrote this article and Paul Howell should also be ensuring, that, whilst objections are still being raised and debated, the project is still as yet to go through the full planning and that his views on the plan should be also clearly stated.
