N-SPIRE is a Drama group set up by Craig Lee for people with Learning Difficulties and Autism at the Neville Parade Community Centre each Wednesday from 10:30 till 3pm. From the demise of the Durham County Day Services Craig set this group up for the clients left without access to Dramatics. With help from Bill Blenkinsop the Community Centre gave reduced room hire so Craig was able to offer various private care companies the chance to come together to meet and for their clients to take part in Drama and Music shows. From starting with only one person the group has grown to 12 people and are open for anyone who might just want to come to meet people and have a cuppa or for those that want to take part. They are now in the process of becoming a not-forprofit charity group which will enable them to apply for funding for equipment desperately needed. To fundraise N-SPIRE are holding their fist Drama performance at the Community Centre on 14th Dec at 1.00pm called “Lost In Love” featuring the group singing their favourite songs along with a story that we have all written. There will be a raffle and all proceeds will go towards the equipment and running costs. Everybody is welcome. “I would like to thank Honest John for donating £200 for us to receive once we get our constitution approved” said Craig.
