Three people have been prosecuted for enviro-crimes this week. Deborah Renforth, 30, of Park Road, South Moor was fined £150 in absence with £130 costs plus a £20 victim surcharge for failing to pick up after a pet in Westfield Park.
Jane Hoare, 25, of Poplar Street, South Moor was fined £200 in absence with costs of £173 and a victim surcharge of £20 for breach of a litter clearing notice
Ashley McCamley, 22, of South View Stanley was fined £100 with costs of £130 and a victim surcharge of £20 for littering in Stanley Bus Station.
Oliver Sherratt, head of Direct Services, said: “Durham County Council takes environmental crime very seriously and crack down on those responsible for issues such as dog fouling and littering, using a variety of methods including; fixed penalty notices and possible court action.”
