The “Feel Good Film Show” at St Clare’s Church on Tuesday 23rd May features the 1948 American musical “EASTER
PARADE” starring Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Ann Miller and Peter Lawford.
This film is 69 years old; but f you like music and song and dance then this is as good as it gets.
The film won an Oscar for Best Original Music Score with 17 tunes from Irvine Berlin, including “A Couple of Swells” “A Fella with an Umbrella” “Steppin’ Out With my Baby” “Shakin the Blues Away” and “It Only Happens When I Dance With You”. We will also show Judy’s number “Mr Monotony” which was deemed too risqué at the time and so cut from the original film.
If you need your spirits lifting, then this film is as Feel Good” as it gets. Tea and coffee is served at 1pm, included in the £2. The film starts at 1-15pm. A variety of chairs are provided for your comfort, and tables so that you can bring a spot of lunch to eat while you enjoy a great film in friendly company.
