“THE FIVE PENNIES”

The “Feel Good Film Show” at St. Clare’s Church on Tuesday 14th August features the musical drama “The Five Pennies” starring Danny Kaye, Barbara Bel Geddes, Louis Armstrong, Harry Guardino, Bob Crosby, Tuesday Weld and Bob Hope.

It is a semi-biographical film about Red Nichols and his band, parts very funny, others very weepy, great music and song inc. “The Five Pennies”, “After You’ve Gone”, “Goodnight Sleep Tight”, “Lullaybye in Ragtime”, “Back Home in Indiana”, and the best ever performance of “When the Saints Go Marching in” by Satchmo and Kaye.

It is a real feel-good U-cert film. Tea, coffee and juice are served at 1pm, included in the £2, children £1. The film starts at 1.15pm. Please note that children must be accompanied, and the film has a “15” rating, containing some strong language.
