Dear Sir,
Residents will be aware that a number of street lights in Newton Aycliffe have not been operating, and therefore I felt important to explain current issues. I have had a response from DCC street lighting department regarding two street lighting enquiries:
Ref: Stephenson Way – The fault was attended 28th January and identified that there is a major cable fault. Ref: 40528487 Honister Place – The fault was attended 31st January and again identified a major cable fault. Both faults are now with subcontractors who have a 35 working day turnaround from the report date. DCC apologise for any inconvenience caused but will endeavour to put them right as soon as possible.
I will monitor both of these fault requests to ensure the requirements are met. However, if residents identify any other problems such as: lights, fly tipping, pot holes, pavements, dog fouling or salt bins you can use DCC new web page Report It, follow this link. http://www.durham.gov.uk/article/1160 get a reference number and a quick response.
