Dear Sir,

As Chairman and Secretary of GACAP Ron and myself were privileged to take part on Friday and Saturday giving out leaflets and excepting donations of food and money for Trussel Trust Foodbank at Tesco’s Store in Newton Aycliffe.

Once again I would like to express my thanks to Kath and Alison for inviting us to help out at the event where the generosity of the people of Newton Aycliffe once again astonished me.

For three days last week Alison and Kath from the town’s Foodbank operating out of St Clare’s Church were busy packing up the food donated by shoppers in Tesco in Newton Aycliffe.

For 5 years Ernie and June Temple ran the foodbank and organised the Tesco Collection events before they retired and handed over to Alison and Kath. You may have noticed in last week’s Newton News a presentation to them both at a special event at St Clare’s Church which we attended.

As chairman and secretary of Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership we are forever grateful to our partners of which Tesco and the Foodbank are included, for the untiring work they do, also for their advice, practical support and direction they give to people of Newton Aycliffe who for many reasons find themselves in need.
