The Greenfield College annual Christmas production was performed to local feeder primary schools last week prior to it’s public evening performances
“Don’t Feed the Animals” is a specially written piece of drama, dance and music using the talent of students in all these departments.
The story is based on a family circus facing troubled times and being forced to close unless something happens. A group of local bored youths appear on the scene to help brother and sister Zach and Missy, who take on the task of training the un-trainable mob in circus skills.
There was no shortage of acting skills in this play and Zach, played by Kieran Berry stole the show with a stage presence that belies his years. All the lead characters gave convincing word-perfect performances and demonstrated the commitment of Greenfield College in developing the arts in Newton Aycliffe.
The band conducted by John Tobin gave great backing to the show with music specially composed by the conductor.
Greenfield College excel in dance and these students brought the “wow” factor to this production with brilliantly choreographed routines by Teacher Alison Dixon, combining all types of dance including acrobat and ballet.
The College can be truly proud of this Show and the effort put in to it, along with the pleasure the whole cast gave to their audiences.
