Love to Recycle!
In aid of the ‘Dive In!’ Hydrotherapy Pool campaign; PCP are working with ‘Bag2School’ – the largest textile collection company working with schools and charities in the UK. You can donate your good-quality, unwanted clothes and textiles to one of PCP’s various dropping points across the North East; which will raise money for the charities Dive In! Campaign, and reduce the environmental impact of clothing. For the ‘Love to Recycle’ project, the public are able to drop off their items from 10.00am Monday 11 February until 10.00am Wednesday 14 February 2019:
Yoga Children
Bring your little ones along to a new Children’s Yoga class starting on Saturday 12th January 10:00 – 11:00 for 6 weeks. This class is aimed at children from ages 4-7 years old and is a fun way to build strength in bodies and minds. Through games, songs, rhymes and giggles, stretch your body and learn key skills such as good sitting, cooperating with others, patience and perseverance. Sessions cost £5.00 each.
Ceramic & Glass Painting (Half Term Activity)
Stuck for something to do as family this half term? On Wednesday 20th February, 9.30 am – 12.00 noon why not try your hand at Ceramic & Glass Painting. Design and create various items for decoration or practical use such as tiles, plates & dishes using paints and pens which can then be fixed in the oven. You could even bring your own item to decorate. FREE for families who are in receipt of means tested benefits, otherwise £7.50.
ICT Drop In Sessions
Learn the basics of navigating your computer or seek help from our volunteers to master online skills such as job searching, creating a CV, online banking and much more. Every Monday from 13.00 – 15.00 or Wednesday from 13.30 – 15.30.
Time to Talk Coffee Morning
On Thursday 7th February 10.00 am – 12.00 noon, pop along for a cuppa and a chat with locals with the aim to break the stigma around discussing mental health. Get your problems off your chest and find people to talk to about your worries – we all have them! PCP have a Young Champion from Time to Change attending the coffee morning and Health Advocates will also be available to talk.
L3 Emergency First Aid Training at Work
This one day course will allow you to understand how to assess a situation and act promptly and safely in an emergency involving an injured patient. Learn how to administer CPR, treat a minor injury and how to manage an unresponsive casualty. Get to know the day-to-day roles of a first aider.
We’re holding two all day courses: Monday, 25th February and Monday, 18th March, both 9.00 – 16.30.
This course is free to anyone in receipt of a means tested benefit, if not the cost is £25 per person.
Batik Art
Join a friendly and experienced arts tutor to learn the basics behind creating your very own beautiful batik art work. Learn how to use fabrics, hot wax, inks and dyes to create your own inspired designs using this ancient Indonesian art form. Starting Wednesday 27th February for 6 weeks 13:00 – 16:00, each session costs £3.00.
You must be aged 19 or above and live in the County Durham area (paying council tax to Durham) in order to attend this course. You will need to bring your NI number and a form of ID with you to the first session.
L2 Food Safety in Catering – Monday 4th March 9.00 – 16.30
Learn the importance of food safety and gain knowledge of the procedures involved. Understand how to control food safety risks and gain confidence in delivering good quality food.
This course is free to anyone in receipt of a means tested benefit, if not the cost is £25.
