Woodham Academy student, Corin Latham, celebrated a perfect set of GCSE results, achieving a top A* grade in 12 subjects: Mathematics, English, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, History, Art, Religious Education, PE and General Studies. Having attended Newcastle University’s mini-medical school during her time at Woodham Academy, Corin is well placed to fulfil her dreams of studying medicine at university. Next year she is going to Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College where she plans to study Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, together with Fine Art.
Corin’s GCSE painting was a highlight of Woodham Academy’s summer Art Exhibition and included a number of anatomical drawings of animals linked to her interest in Science, as well as a stunning seascape based on artist Maggie Hambling’s work.
Corin says “The teachers’ feedback and support throughout my time at Woodham Academy really helped”. Her mum, Susan Latham, says “I’m incredibly proud. What an achievement!”
