Paul Howell
Conservative candidate to be Member of Parliament for Newton Aycliffe and Spennymoor.
Dear Sir,
I would like the people of Newton Aycliffe to consider re-electing me as their Member of Parliament. I have been your MP through the challenges of Covid and a war in Europe, neither of which were anticipated back in 2019. It has been the honour of my life.
I have given you transparency on my work by writing Parliament Talk every week in this paper. I have delivered as a constituency MP by making myself available through constituency surgeries at various locations and we have had the privilege of dealing with over 18,000 pieces of casework, 3,300 were from the Aycliffe area, which is 11 for every single day since I was elected.
As your MP I have worked on many important issues for the town, including the need for our Police Station to remain and for the Police to be on top of ASB, but also for specific issues like knife crime. I have supported causes like the WASPI women and the Mineworkers Pension Scheme.
I have met and worked for many of the businesses on the industrial estate, in particular, I have worked very closely with Hitachi on their current challenges, including taking the Unions to meet the Secretary of State. For anyone to say the issue could be solved at the stroke of a pen is hugely misleading. The political imperative for Government was to resolve the problem so, if they could have, they would have. I know that all that can be done is being done and I would continue with this as a primary focus if re-elected.
I have met and worked with so many wonderful people across the Town and would appreciate the opportunity to continue listening to you and working for you, Vote Paul Howell to continue as your MP.
