Saturday 28th March saw families of Brafferton and the surrounding area celebrate Earth Hour in their pjs! We planned to switch off the lights at 7pm for an hour but we just didn’t turn them on as dusk approached with the children busy making candle lanterns for themselves.
It got gradually darker and the children enjoyed running around and playing with their newly decorated lanterns and torches to light the way.
Children enjoyed playing in the sand and playdough with the various animals, sea creatures and dinosaurs; building towers and a crane with the recycling; reading the animals books and making their own star sun catchers, for the following day!
Highlight of the evening was the shared picnic and super special hot chocolate with Marshmallows, made from Acorn Dairy’s organic milk. The evening raised £35, donated to WWF.
