Families can enjoy an evening full of frighteningly good circus fun in Durham City’s Wharton Park this Halloween.
Following sell-out performances in previous years, Let’s Circus will return to the park for the fourth year running with two performances of a brand-new family Fright Night show at 4pm and 7pm on Friday 1 November.
Fright Night: The Gravest Show, will treat families of all ages to an evening of spook-tacular circus skills and street theatre in the park’s outdoor amphitheatre.
This year’s spellbinding performances are set to have more treats than tricks, with a perfect balance of spectacle, spookiness and stories for younger members of the family.
Louise Vest, programme officer at the park, said: “We love Let’s Circus. They put on a fantastic display which is always truly memorable and a great night for all the family.
“Our amphitheatre is the perfect setting for outdoor performances, especially on a dark autumn evening. Families can start their Halloween adventure by walking through the shadows of the park with a torch to make their way to the amphitheatre. We’d encourage people to bring a camping chair or comfy blanket to sit on whilst they snuggle down to watch the remarkable circus artists.
“Fancy dress is also encouraged but we’d suggest people wrap up warm and dress for the weather as this is an outdoor show.
“Past Fright Night events have completely sold out so we’re encouraging people to book early this year to avoid disappointment.”
Steve Cousins, ringmaster with Lets Circus, said: “This year’s production is going to be great fun, with an international crew including our fantastic Mexican artists. As always, there’ll be amazing skills mixed with a kooky storyline combining elements of two great movies, The Greatest Showman and Coco.”
