Aycliffe Neighbourhood Police Team are appealing for owners of private CCTV to get in touch with them to share the location of their CCTV. The Team are in the process of setting up a database of all properties within Newton Aycliffe that have their own cameras to assist with the progression of investigations. House to house enquiries are an everyday part of Police enquiries and through these the existence of CCTV can be identified however the purpose of such a database would be to allow Officers, on receipt of a report of crime, to quickly look on it to see if there are any CCTV cameras in the area which may assist in the investigation.
