Signs have gone up on the old Town Centre Police Station showing it is now being demolished.
We have tried to obtain details from The Police Commissioners Office, without success but through County Councillor Jed Hillary have discovered the plot is “under offer”.
It is reasonable to assume the land it stands on will be sold, but whoever has plans on using this valuable town centre site will be loathe to reveal their intentions at this stage. Usually the answer we get is that it is “Commercially Sensitive”.
It is pleasing to note progress is being made after four years and the town may soon benefit from a new facility. Newton News will keep readers informed of any development.
