There is an idea that Aycliffe should have its own music venue, but the big question is will it get used, do the residents of Aycliffe want a dedicated music venue and will they support it?
The idea has been born to create a cooperative of people who want the venue and if strong enough then we could go ahead and create a venue. If you would like to be part of this project and have money to invest (from as little as £100). The venue would have all genre of music and may also diversify into other areas of entertainment depending on the wishes of the cooperative and what the residents of Aycliffe want. The Youthy held its first of regular Disco’s aimed at younger people and families in Aycliffe. I went along to see how it went and was amazed to see the party / holiday camp atmosphere with youngsters from 3 to 16 along with their parents dancing to all the well known  songs with DJ Tom and DJ Will taking requests and spinning the tunes.
Everyone I asked said they will be back to the next one on Saturday 10th May 1:30 till 4pm. Disco is a great form of party and exercise; I think the kids will have slept well on Saturday night.
