The league campaign is well under way now and it’s not going too badly. Darlington currently sit second in the league, three points behind leaders Blyth Spartans. I think most fans would be happy with that. Our last league game against Mickleover wasn’t the prettiest of games but a determined Darlo eventually ran out 2-1 winners.
Similarly the FA Trophy game against Mossley last Saturday, as ever, it was good to have a catch up with some of their fans, was a hard fought game that could have gone either way, especially when Mossley rattled the crossbar early on, but we eventually won 3-2 and face an away tie to fellow league team Sutton Coldfield on November 14th. A tough tie against the team currently 12th in the league.
Our next league game is home to Buxton United this Saturday. Buxton beat us 2-0 at their place on the first game of the season, so we’ll be hoping for a reversal of that scoreline in order for us to keep the pressure on Blyth. Kick off is at the good old fashioned time of 3pm whilst admission for the game is £10 adults, £7 concession and £4 child.
The Newton Aycliffe Darlington FC Supporters group will be meeting next Wednesday, 11th November, in the Iron Horse at 7pm.
We are always looking for new people to come and join us. We are a social group of Aycliffe based Darlington fans who get together to praise, criticise and generally chat about anything Darlo related. If that’s something you’d like to do then pop along, we’d love to meet you.
