Dear Sir,
I cordially invite residents from Heighington Parish to attend my Civic Church Service in St Michael’s Church, Heighington on 27th July, 2014 starting at 9.30 am.
I am delighted the Bishop of Jarrow, together with 15 Mayors from across the north east with their consorts, will be attending, together with Borough Councillors.
All will meet in the Village Hall, supported by the church choir, Rev Lissa Gibbons, Rev Barbara Hilton and Churchwardens. They will then process into church for the start of the Service. Our Junior church will sing two hymns in their inimitable way and Janet Walke, the well known opera singer from Darlington, will be singing The Lord’s my Shepherd and Mozart’s ‘Alleluia’
The gathering of so many Mayors, all wearing their Chain of Office, will not have been seen in Heighington before or for some time in the future, so the occasion may be of interest to young and old. I hope that you will join us and refreshments will be served in the Village Hall afterwards.
