Dear Sir,
Where are our Labour/Momentum Councillors when you need them? In last week’s Newton News a concerned Newtonian wrote a half page letter complaining about dangerous driving around Aycliffe, and other matters; he blames Boris Johnson!
Would a Labour/Momentum Councillor from the Labour /Momentum ruling Group on Durham County Council properly advise this Newtonian that Durham County Council is the statutory authority with RESPONSIBILITY for Roads, Road Safety, Policing and Social Care. Also, the elected Police and Crimes Commissioner is Labour!
Perhaps, if Cllr. John D. Clare took time out from Championing the Climate in Durham and decrying our current (world leading) economic model, he could pass on this Newtonian’s concerns to the relevant responsibility holders in our Momentum/Labour controlled Council. I would point out, however, that Durham Police have been wasting their time, at the behest of Labour/Momentum DCC Councillors, attempting to trace the movements of Dominic Cummings as he went about his lawful business. Policing priorities are set by Labour/Momentum Councillors and the Labour Police and Crimes Commissioner.
Alternatively, “Concerned Newtonian” could write to our brand new Conservative MP, Paul Howells. I have written to him on numerous occasions and received confirmation that he has forwarded my complaint/concern to the relevant Authority. (Note: Paul is still a County Councillor).
Yours Sincerely
Alastair P.G. Welsh
