On Tuesday 12th March, Class 14, from Vane Road Primary School, attended the Sedgefield School Sport Partnership Dance Festival.
The festival was spread over a two-day period; 27 different schools attended within the two days. Amazingly, the youngest performers were only reception children, doing dances involving being animals, whilst the oldest group were four talented year 10s from Greenfield with their contemporary dance (which they choreographed themselves) involving chairs, yes, chairs!
Every school was lead through a fun warm up by a fantastic instructor. Even the spectators were dancing along with us!
Back at our seats we watched the first two dances by Greenfield then several other schools performed their superb dance. Soon, it was us.
Our school performed our version of Grease, a dance that was partly made by Mrs Cowey, who unfortunately wasn’t able to make it to the festival, and partly by us. Our teacher, Miss Bone, tweaked the dance to perfection.
We wore costumes that consisted of decorated white t-shirts. The girls also wore fluorescent leggings and leg-warmers, finished with a grey net bow tied around their necks. We had a fantastic afternoon!
