Aycliffe Dance Academy held a Family Fun Day to raise funds to buy student costumes for this year’s Show! Hundreds of people attended the day which was held at the Academy’s home, The Bethany Centre.
Members of the Academy and the public browsed stalls, got their faces and nails painted, played in the ball pool and on the bouncy castle and took part in activities such as Play Your Cards Right and The Ultimate Throwing Challenge!
The children (and adults) had a fantastic time; they even got the opportunity for a picture with Minnie Mouse and Fireman Sam which were kindly supplied by Party Palz North East.
The Fun Day was also a massive celebration to mark three years from when the Academy first opened back in 2010. There were balloons and banners decorated by the Academy’s students dotted around the venue and the smell of cakes and hot dogs cooking in the kitchen enticed you in.
The day turned out to be a HUGE success and blew last year’s total out of the water! £2003.75 was raised altogether which exceeded everyone’s expectations!
Emma Cox, the Dance Principal of Aycliffe Dance Academy would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the last three years. She said that the support from the public, family and friends has been amazing and it comforts her to know that people of Newton Aycliffe are right behind her.
Everyone is more than welcome to come along and support the show which 147 local children are taking part in! The show is being held on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July at the Xcel Centre, Aycliffe Business Park. Tickets go on sale on Friday 24th May between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at The Bethany Centre in Woodham. Any local businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring the show are asked to call Emma on 07908 162 868.
