Top brass are set to take to the stages of village halls and community centres around County Durham next month.
Some of the best UK and international bands will take part in nine gigs over nine days as Brass: Durham International Festival’s popular Community Tour returns.
Developed and delivered by Durham County Council, BRASS festival is an annual celebration of the county’s musical culture and tradition.
Cllr Neil Foster, Durham County Council’s Cabinet member for economic regeneration, said: “BRASS is all about celebrating our musical heritage and encouraging audiences to look to the future of brass music. Taking the festival out on the road and into our communities is the perfect way of doing that.
“We’ve some brilliant bands lined up and they’re all looking forward to getting on stage and sharing their enthusiasm for brass music with their audiences.”
This year’s community tour includes Beat ‘n’ Blow from Berlin who are set to wow audiences with their infectious blend of jazz, funk and hip hop joining the Cutting Loose Carnival of music and arts in West Park, Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday, 15th July at 6pm..
