Over the last couple of months Aycliffe Radio have been working closely with Durham County Councils’ Covid Compliance Team, who have been a tremendous help in ensuring that the Drive-In events to be held at ROF59 this weekend are following government guidelines.
Aycliffe Radio, the organisers of the Drive-In events, would like to thank the Covid Compliance Team for their advice, guidance and assistance in helping to pull these events together and keeping everyone who attends, as well as our volunteers, safe during the events.
The organisers are hoping that the current restrictions will be lifted on 21st June to enable concert like events to take place during the summer – watch Newton News and Aycliffe Radio website for more details of future events.
To follow the current guidelines all cars will be socially distanced, with a grassed area beside for the audience to enjoy the shows (bring your deck chairs). The on-site bar will be a table service to your vehicle, as will the barbecue.
The first event takes place on Saturday 29th May from 5-10pm and will feature local DJs playing hits from the 90s and 00s along with a couple of solo singers. On Bank Holiday Monday 31st May, between 2-5pm, tribute band The Beatles Unplugged and Jay Murray, Liverpool’s Cavern Club resident singer, will entertain – for more information please visit www.ayclifferadio.co.uk/tickets
Profits from all the Aycliffe Radio events will be donated to local charities and organisations.
“I would like to give a special thank you to all those who volunteer to help with the set up and running of the events, our team are on site three hours before and give their time willingly to help the various causes the station supports” said Paul, Station Manager.
